WARD Surgical RCT II

Study Sites:

Copenhagen University hospitals; Rigshospitalet, Bispebjerg and Hvidovre.

Inclusion criteria:

Cancer surgery in general anesthesia, with an expected surgical duration of more than 2 hours, and at least 2 overnight stays in the hospital after surgery.

Study Procedures:

Continuous wireless recording of vital values with patients randomized to either no monitoring, or nurse based monitoring of a mobile phone app with vital signs displayed and alerts for sustained deviations.

Outcome:

Adverse events and serious adverse events. Days alive and out of hospital.
